This vintage William Kerr sterling buckle has been repurposed to hold eighteen strands of ombré shongia sapphire gemstones.
The buckle is classic Kerr, circa 1890's. It's a Green Man/gargoyle face with a Mandarin garnet gemstone set in a serrated bezel inside of his open mouth. This face is filled with amazing detail. The piece measures 2.5" x 1 5/8". The garnet stone is 5mm in square.
The sapphire strands are made up of 2.5mm to 3mm gems with an ombré shading of pale yellow through orange to deep plum. I envision it to be the fire coming from his mouth and how the flame changes in color as it leaves.
This piece just needs your wrist measurement to be completed with sterling French wire, crimps and a custom locking slide clasp.
